The Joy of Creative Engagement for Caregivers program provides creative engagement workshops for professional and family caregivers, Nurses, Nurses Assistants, Home Health Aides, Recreational Directors and all those working in memory care.

Just A Taste

Presented by:

Ilyana Kadushin, Founder and Executive Director of Stories Love Music Inc. James Harrell, Accompanying Musician for live events and concerts

This multimedia session introduces the concepts of Stories Love Music’s (501c3) mission with an interactive and guided music concert integrated into this session. Participants will get to experience the power of music for their own self care and stress management, as well as obtaining creative tools for the most challenging aspects of their caregiving process. We will also share the results of an exciting pilot study.

Attendees will walk away with an enhanced comprehension of how creative engagement meets the challenges in memory care. Includes (1-1.5) hour long interactive presentation.

Wellness

Facilitated by: Certified Stories Love Music Trainer

Offers a cohort up to (20) students with two modules totaling (3.5 – 4 ) hours that focus on how to use music as a tool for self-care and compassion in both personal and professional parts of our lives. Bolstering this muscle of how to self-regulate one’s stress level and take care of one’s self with demanding professions, fosters greater employee satisfaction, loyalty and overall wellness.

Challenges for Dementia Caregiving

Facilitated by: Certified Stories Love Music Trainer

*Important note: the (20) person cohort that will attend this training must have previously attended the (3.5) hours Wellness Program.

Caregivers take the knowledge and value from the earlier modules of self-care experiences, to begin to understand the power and transformation that music can have on those they care for, who are experiencing memory loss.

Two modules totaling (4.5) hours that includes:
● Identifying the Challenges in Dementia Caregiving
● How to apply creative engagement to the challenges in caregiving.

Full Immersion 5 Module Program

Facilitated by: Certified Stories Love Music Trainer

Offers a cohort up to (20) students with (5) modules totaling (8) hours that provides attendees tools for: self-care, stress management and handling the most challenging behaviors. This includes all 5 modules. At the end of this experience, through discussions and exercises Caregivers learn how to build on their engagement for better connection and cooperation with the individual.

Add on option: Trainer option for facilities and staff that have already completed the full immersion.

Train the Trainer

Facilitated by: Ilyana Kadushin, Founder and Executive Director of Stories Love Music Inc.

We also designed a trainer experience for those who are interested in being certified by Stories Love Music and working with the caregivers in our programs. This offers a cohort up to (10) students hands-on instruction and training of all five modules of The Joy of Creative Engagement program totaling .

In order to receive certification, the trainee must lead a group training for caregivers under supervision of Ilyana Kadushin.

Includes: (8) hours classroom and (8) hours supervision

Keep the Momentum Going

*Important note: In order to receive this refresher program, the staff must have previously attended the (8) hours Full Immersion Program.

It’s imperative to create an ongoing connection with caregivers to underscore the importance of sustaining the creative techniques in Memory Care. Stories Love Music provides the support to assure that the creative engagement tools are sustained for staff wellness and retention and personalized care of those in memory care. We will tailor the service after a thirty-minute executive consultation with Stories Love Music founder and Executive Director, Ilyana Kadushin.

Resilience through Creative Engagement

Through an inspired partnership between Stories Love Music and Loretta Veney Inspires, this collaborative training event with 20 maximum participants, provides activities that reduce anxiety, depression and burnout in caregivers. Program focuses include:

● Musical selections and strategies for managing behaviors of seniors with dementia and self-care for caregivers
● LEGO® building tasks that participants will complete in response to the musical selections played, benefiting both seniors and caregivers.

The collaborative sessions allow participants to experience the power of both listening to music and creating their own responses to it.
